The tie which links mother and child is of such pure and immaculate strength as to be never violated. ~Washington Irving
The picture above is reason # 1,521 that I LOVE being a mom. I woke up to find Vavia sleeping on her tummy in her crib for the first time. Apparently, this is more comfortable. The best part of the photo, if you look closely, is that she is gripping the blue ring on her crib toy. It was such a lovely sight at 6 o’clock in the morning.
I found a fabulous gift idea for Mother’s Day. Rich, it’s too late (or really too early) to get me this, but maybe in a few years. If no one gets me one of these, I will just splurge myself one day.
Looking forward to celebrating my first real Mother’s Day! We are having brunch with mom and dad on Sunday morning at one of my favorite restaurants, the Cobblestone Grill in Zionsville. Should be a treat.
In other news, Richard and I are finally going to see Baker (brother-in-law) race in Buchanan, Michigan on the 17th this month. We are staying at a nearby bed and breakfast hosted by a really nice lady (from what I can tell on the phone) named Nancy Conard. They are so accommodating. Most B&Bs don’t allow children or if they do, they must be 14 or older. This one not only accommodates kids…they have a crib and high chair! It should be a good time.
